Wikipedia has a well-known problem: the gender gap. There are more editors who identify as men and fewer articles about women and topics important to women on the site. Articles about women are also more likely to be incomplete, less detailed, and use biased language. In this presentation, you will learn more about the gender disparities on Wikipedia and how you can help close the gap.
This presentation is ideal for those interested in learning about Wikipedia, in particular how gender factors into the site. The presentation is a standalone program, but also works well as part of a workshop or edit-a-thon.
